The Corsham Photography Club started in 1965 and was the idea of Mr Glanz, a Corsham dentist. The first meetings were held in the Office room at the Corsham Community Centre. As the number of members increased the meetings were moved to the Lounge and when the Club outgrew the Lounge, with 50 plus members, it moved to the Jubilee Room. When the fees for the Jubilee Room increased the Club moved to the Church House, the first meeting there being on 2nd September 2005.
In 1990, to celebrate 25 years of the Photographic Club, an Anniversary party was held.
Through the years various slide battles have been held with Trowbridge, Calne, Devizes, Swindon, Frome Selwood, Admiralty Bath, Wootton Bassett and Warminster.
The Multi-Club Photographic Group annual battle was held at Calne in 1985 and continues today.
A Tri-Battle was held at Corsham in 1991 with Trowbridge and Devizes which continued for three years. Then in 1995 a Tri-Battle with Calne and Wootton Bassett was held and continued until 2013. In 2015 a Tri-Battle was held at Corsham with Trowbridge and Lacock and that continues today.
From the early days of the Club there was a project subject for most evenings. When the Tri-Battles were started they introduced additional subjects to the project subjects.
For a short time subgroups were formed and met on alternate Fridays to the Club meetings. There were three groups, print/studio, outdoor/nature and audio-visual.
During the summer breaks there was an annual photo-quiz and visits to various locations
Several meetings were held with the Corsham Recorded Music Society until the Society disbanded.
